When I first made that cubes background I fell in love with it. I kept using cubes in my shaders because they are so easy to work with and can look great with little effort.
This one was more of an accident. By inputting a negative value for the pyramid height (intending on inverting it), I got an unexpected but welcome result. This showed me that experimenting with values is a fun way to create cool effects.
While still learning Material Maker, I made these golden lights to test out metallic objects and their interactions with lighting. It resulted in this piece. I am unsatisfied with the background but I won’t change it since it marks a spot in my learning journey.
One of my earliest works, was just trying it out My profile picture is actually an even earlier version of this shader I made it after learning about Material Maker and got immediately hooked on it.
